What I've Been Reading Lately
Finding Dorothy by Elizabeth Letts This is a work of historical fiction about Maud Gage Baum, L. Frank Baum (the author of Wizard of Oz), and the making of the movie. The story is told in a flashback format alternating between 1939 when Judy Garland was making the movie and the 1880's when the Baums met, courted, and eventually married. This was well-written and I wanted to finish the book (I didn't have to force myself to). I learned many things I didn't know about the author, the writing process, and the movie industry in the late 30's. Quiet Girl in a Noisy World by Debbie Tung Full confession: This is a re-read from last year. I loved this graphic novel so much that I needed to re-read it before I read her new graphic novel.
